Focus Design Partners was awarded the design of the Environmental and Radiation Laboratories in Qatar in July 2024, comprising the Secondary Standards Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL) in Al Sailiya and the extension of the Environmental Laboratory in Mesaimeer.

The SSDL radiation lab is the first of its kind in Qatar and is one of only 20 facilities in the world.    It is a specialist radiation calibration facility, supporting national standards for dosimetry and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of radiation measurement infrastructure.

The Environmental Laboratory is designed as a high-performance research and public health facility supporting critical national functions, including soil, water, and air sampling. The design integrates critical requirements for safety and accessibility, enabling efficient handling of sensitive environmental data and materials.

Together, these two facilities represent a significant advancement of Qatar's scientific and environmental infrastructure, strengthening national capabilities in radiation safety, environmental monitoring, and research.
