The Lusail International Circuit Pit Building has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s longest motorsport pit building, achieving a record length of 402 metres as part of the circuit’s major upgrade and refurbishment ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix.
The record-breaking facility forms the centrepiece of the Lusail International Circuit redevelopment, a project undertaken to transform the venue into a world-class motorsport destination meeting the requirements of both FIA Grade 1 and FIM standards. Focus Design Partners and Tilke GmbH jointly executed the design and construction supervision services.
Beyond its unprecedented scale, the Pit Building was conceived as a highly efficient motorsport facility that brings together the full spectrum of race operations, hospitality, and spectator experiences within a single, continuous structure. Its extended linear configuration responds to the complex operational requirements of international racing events, enabling seamless coordination between teams, officials, media, and visitors.
The Guinness World Record recognition reflects the scale and complexity of the facility, while highlighting the successful integration of architectural design, motorsport functionality, and international performance standards.
