With Qatar preparing to host the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, Focus Design Partners was awarded the design commission in March 2026 to modernize four key indoor sports venues: Lusail Multi-Purpose Hall, Duhail Sports Hall, Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena, and Qatar Basketball Federation Hall. The project will upgrade the facilities to meet international competition requirements while improving their performance, accessibility, and operational functionality. The upgrades will strengthen the venues' role as year-round destinations for elite competitions, athlete development, and community sport across Qatar.
