Located at Hamad Port and occupying an approximately 53-hectare site, the Strategic Food Security Facilities development was conceived as a critical industrial and logistics asset supporting Qatar’s food security strategy. The project delivers a platform that reponds to the growing need for supply-chain infrastructure amid evolving global demand and logistical uncertainty.

Designed as a port-side logistics and processing facility, the development includes storage silos,  warehouse typologies with high storage capacity, material conveyance systems, and operational infrastructure that befit industrial demands. Input from a food processing specialist informed key operational and processing requirements within the facility and its development.  Anchored by a 575-meter quay interface, the facility enables land-side and maritime transfer operations, supporting commodity handling and uninterrupted distribution.

The wider masterplan was development in alignment with international operation and storage standards and supporting up to two years of essential food supply for a population of approximately 3 million.

As part of the construction phase, we provided multidisciplinary technical design development, including the review and incorporation of final equipment selections, specialist vendor requirements, and operational criteria into the design. This encompassed updates to Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems, coordination of ventilation and utility requirements, integration of specialist input, revision of area data and equipment information, and ongoing BIM model development to reflect coordinated design updates and construction-stage requirements.
